The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) convened a meeting on April 9, 2025, to co-ordinate preparations for visitor arrivals during the upcoming Labour Day Golden Week (May 1–5, 2025). The meeting, chaired by Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, included representatives from key government departments, such as the Hong Kong Police Force, Immigration Department, Hong Kong Customs, Transport Department, and various District Offices. Representatives from major tourism-related organisations, including the Travel Industry Authority, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, and the hotel industry including the Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, were also in attendance.
The Government highlighted that the Labour Day Golden Week is a peak travel period for Hong Kong, with an anticipated increase in visitor arrivals. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for visitors, CSTB and relevant parties are committed to enhancing coordination and communication.
Key points discussed during the meeting include:
- Strengthening interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth visitor arrivals.
- Enhancing communication between government bodies and the tourism sector to provide quality services.
The interdepartmental working group on festival arrangements, chaired by the Chief Secretary for Administration, will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
