We wish to inform members that the Federation recently held a meeting with representatives of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCD) to gain a broader understanding of its long‑term development vision and planning direction.
The Federation delegation was led by our 2nd Vice‑Chairman, Mr Alex Lo, with participation from members of the Management Committee. The meeting formed part of the Federation’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders to better understand initiatives that may have medium‑ to long‑term relevance to the hospitality sector.
During the meeting, representatives exchanged views on the current hospitality market outlook, and the Federation shared hotel owners’ perspectives on operating conditions, investment considerations, and long‑term sustainability. The discussion reflected practical market experience from both ownership and operator standpoints.
The WKCD representatives also shared their future development vision and strategic direction for the district. The Federation expressed a positive view of WKCD’s vision and acknowledged the Authority’s contribution to enhancing Hong Kong’s cultural landscape and elevating the city’s tourism appeal through the development of world‑class arts, cultural, and lifestyle facilities.
The meeting was constructive and forward‑looking. The Federation thanks WKCD for the opportunity and for engaging in early dialogue with the hospitality industry, which is valuable in fostering mutual understanding and informed long‑term planning.
We will continue to monitor developments and maintain communication with WKCD, and will keep members informed of any relevant updates as appropriate.
