We are profoundly saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Lui Che Woo GBM, GBS, MBE, JP, the founding chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners and the Chairman and Managing Director of K. Wah International Holdings Limited, who left us at the age of 95 on 7 November 2024.

Dr. Lui was a visionary leader and the driving force behind the founding of our federation. His invaluable contributions and steadfast dedication have significantly shaped the hospitality industry in Hong Kong. Under his guidance, our federation has grown and thrived, reflecting his commitment to excellence and innovation.

We have been deeply touched by the outpouring of condolence messages from our members.  Details on memorial service arrangements and other details will be communicated to members in due course.  

The Federation extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Lui’s family during this time and honor his memory as a leader, pioneer, and dear friend to many in our community.
