Promoting the Use of Licensed Taxi Fleet Services for Hotel Guests

The Federation would like to inform members that we have received a letter from the Transport Department (“TD”) inviting hotel trade's support in encouraging hotels, where practicable, to prioritise booking licensed taxi fleet services for guests.

 

TD advises that five licensed taxi fleets have been in operation since July 2025, aiming to enhance service quality through professional management and technology. TD notes that these services generally offer newer vehicles and more vehicle options (including premium, six‑seater and wheelchair‑accessible taxis), trained drivers, broader e‑payment acceptance, and online hailing/customer service channels.

 

In response, members may consider reviewing concierge and guest transport arrangements and, where suitable and subject to guest preference and availability, giving priority to licensed taxi fleet bookings. Each hotel should continue to exercise its own judgement based on operational needs, internal requirements, and existing arrangements.

The attachment is shared as reference material only, and the Federation does not take any view on individual vendors or solutions.  Members who are considering ways to streamline taxi booking workflows may wish to review the information.
