The Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners would like to inform members that during the Lunar New Year Golden Week from 15 to 23 February 2026, the Transport Department (TD) will implement special traffic and transport arrangements at various tourist attractions, major event venues and cross-boundary control points.
Members are advised to take note of the following arrangements when organising events, coordinating transportation logistics and planning guest movements during the festive period. Detailed traffic arrangements for 15–23 February 2026 are attached for members’ reference.
Members are also advised that the Transport Department (TD) issued an announcement today (12 February 2026) regarding special traffic and transport arrangements for:
- The International Chinese New Year Night Parade (17 February 2026); and
- The Chinese New Year Fireworks Display (18 February 2026).

(I) International Chinese New Year Night Parade
Date: 17 February 2026 (First Day of Lunar New Year)
Time: 8:00 pm
Location: Tsim Sha Tsui
Road Closures
Phased road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented from 3:30 pm until approximately 11:45 pm in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, including:
- Canton Road
- Haiphong Road
- Nathan Road
- Salisbury Road (between Chatham Road South and Star Ferry Pier)
During the closure period, taxi stands (including pick‑up and drop‑off points), public light bus stands, roadside parking spaces and private car parks within the affected areas will be suspended.
Public Transport Arrangements
- Bus and green minibus routes operating in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted or suspended.
- Relevant bus and minibus stops will be suspended or relocated.
- MTR services on the Island Line, East Rail Line and Tuen Ma Line will be strengthened subject to passenger demand.
- The en-route stop of the short-haul cross-boundary coach service between Jordan and Huanggang Port at China Ferry Terminal Public Transport Interchange will be suspended from approximately 3:00 pm.
(II) Chinese New Year Fireworks Display
Date: 18 February 2026 (Second Day of Lunar New Year)
Time: 8:00 pm
Location: Victoria Harbour
Road Closures
Hong Kong Island
Phased road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented from approximately 6:00 pm in Central, Wan Chai and Eastern District.
The westbound section of Island Eastern Corridor between Man Hong Street and Victoria Park Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic (except franchised buses) from 7:45 pm until roads reopen.
Kowloon
Phased road closures will be implemented from approximately 5:00 pm in the vicinity of Tsim Sha Tsui and the West Kowloon Cultural District until the crowd disperses and roads reopen.
During the closure period, taxi stands, public light bus stands, roadside parking spaces and private car parks within affected areas will be suspended.
Public Transport Arrangements
- Bus and green minibus routes in affected areas will be diverted or suspended.
- MTR services on the Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, South Island Line, Tung Chung Line, East Rail Line and Tuen Ma Line will be strengthened subject to passenger demand.
- Tram services will increase frequency subject to passenger demand.
- Ferry services (including Star Ferry, Sun Ferry, Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry, Discovery Bay Transportation Services, Park Island Transport and Fortune Ferry) will gradually adjust or suspend certain services from 5:05 pm.
- Temporary stopping arrangements will apply to short-haul cross-boundary coach services to Huanggang Port.
- The Central to Mid-Levels Escalator and Walkway System service will be extended until 2:00 am the following day.
Traffic Outlook and Advisory
The Transport Department anticipates significant traffic congestion in:
- Hong Kong Island North (Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty, Central and Island Eastern Corridor)
- Tsim Sha Tsui and West Kowloon Cultural District
- Cross Harbour Tunnel and Aberdeen Tunnel
Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. Members are encouraged to advise guests to use public transport services and allow additional travelling time.
The TD and the Police will closely monitor traffic conditions and may adjust arrangements subject to prevailing circumstances. Members are advised to pay attention to the latest traffic news through radio, television, the TD website (www.td.gov.hk) and the “HKeMobility” mobile application.
