The Labour Department has launched a three-year “Pilot Rehabilitation Programme for Employees Injured at Work” (Pilot Programme) targeting at injured construction employees on 23 September 2022.
The labour authorities will expand the Pilot Programme to cover workers from the industries of Catering and Hotel, as well as Transport and Logistics, from 9 May 2024.
Features of the Pilot Programme

Helps injured employees in the construction industry to recover and return to work early

Provides speedy private out-patient rehabilitation treatment

Same fees as public hospitals/ public clinics (Reimbursement can be sought from employer under the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance)

Designated person to follow up treatment and return-to-work
The scheme targets workers who suffered from musculoskeletal injuries or diseases from work and have been or are expected to be absent for six weeks or more. They could receive private outpatient rehabilitation services while paying the same cost as public hospitals under the scheme.
