On 31 August 2023, the Federation organised a briefing session on the Enhanced Supplementary Labour Scheme (ESLS) with the HKHA, and supporting organisations including the Hotel Controllers & Accountants Association (HCAA), Hong Kong Laundry Service Association, and HR partner 339HR.  This is the first briefing session on ESLS attended by representatives of the government for any trades after their announcement on 28 August 2023. 

Today's event was a great success with over 240 participants attending.   At the briefing session, representatives from the Labour Department (LD) walked through the application process and answered questions regarding the Scheme.  We have attached LD's PowerPoint presentation for members’ reference.  

A media luncheon was organised by the Federation and the Hon Perry Yiu’s office after the briefing session today.  The Federation briefed the media on the result of our latest EOI (Expression of Interest) regarding the application for the ESLS collected in mid-August.  We have also presented a survey result collected at the briefing session today, which showed 82% of the respondents believed the Enhancement of the ESLS will be able to alleviate the manpower shortage problem.  The Federation also shared with the media a list of recommendations we presented in this year's Policy Address Consultation sessions.  The press release is as attached for members’ information.
