The Federation participated in the 2nd Inter-departmental Meeting on September 20, 2023 and the Tourism Commission would like the Federation to help disseminating the information on traffic notice (including road closure during the celebratory events on National Day Golden Week, which will be provided once received from the Police) and safety precaution on marine safety to visitors. The Federation represented the hotel industry to attend 2 consultation sessions on the Policy Address 2023 chaired by the Financial Secretary and Chief Secretary for Administration on 22 and 23 August 2023.
The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has commenced consultation on the 2023 Policy Address and the Federation was cordially invited join the consultation session chaired by the Financial Secretary on 22 August 2023.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) held the “Professional Quality Tourism Services Pledge” Launch Ceremony on July 21, 2023, Ms Belinda YEUNG, 1st Vice Chairman of the Federation was invited to join the ceremony and had a sharing session with other trades on stage.
According to a survey conducted by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) in the first five months of this year, among more than 10,000 departing overnight visitors surveyed, the satisfaction rating was 8.8 marks on a 10-point scale, which was higher than the average rating of 8.5 marks before the pandemic.
On 13 July 2023, the Federation together with the Hon Perry YIU, Legislative Council Member (Travel Industry) and the Hong Kong Hotels Association, met with the Tourism Commission led by Ms Wendy CHUNG, Deputy Commission for Tourism.
The Hon Perry YIU will be invited to attend the meeting. We have received an update from Tourism Commission that the Labour Department will not participate in this meeting.
The Tourism Commission will arrange a meeting with the Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners and the Hong Kong Hotels Association in response to our letter issued to the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau dated 14 June 2023. The meeting will be scheduled for July 13, 2023 with details as follows:
